Hi, I am the new librarian at Ball High School, and I am so excited to be here. The 2021-2022 school year will be my eleventh year as a high school librarian, and fourteenth in education. I started as a sixth grade Language Arts and Reading teacher, and due to my love of literacy and reading, chose to pursue a degree in Library Science. My mission is to grow the library program into the heart of the school; I believe libraries offer more than just books and research. We are a place to gather, a safe place where everyone is welcome, and I get to develop relationships with all of the students. I am here to help everyone succeed, and be their best. I enjoy traveling; five years ago I was awarded a grant from Fund for Teachers and got to spend two weeks in Edinburgh, Scotland attending the International Book Festival and Fringe Festival. When I am not working, or home reading, I am at the pool with family and friends, or going out to eat. I enjoy listening to music, usually with my two children. I live in League City with my husband, Brian, two elementary aged children, and two harlequin Great Danes. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the University of Houston in Interdisciplinary Studies 4-8, and a Masters of Science from University of Houston- Clear Lake in Library Science. I love being a librarian and believe that it is one of the best jobs in education as I get to develop relationships with everyone while indulging my passions for reading and literacy.
