  • Executive Summary: A Groundbreaking Initiative
    The Galveston Independent School District (GISD), Galveston College (GC), and The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) have collaboratively launched the Ball High School Health Sciences and Sciences Pathway.

    The program will operate out of the new Ball High building, featuring 19 advanced laboratories.

  • Designing a science lab that comfortably supports both practical and theoretical learning is essential. Each laboratory must be:

    • Adequate in size for safe hands-on experimentation
    • Flexible for group collaboration and individual learning
    • Equipped for real-world applications that mirror industry and higher education expectations
    • Designed to integrate lecture-based instruction with private workspaces
    • This intentional design ensures students gain meaningful, applicable experience across the Health Sciences pathway.
