School History

When we say "Rich in Tradition and Excellence in Education,'' one does not go without the other. In 1884, Ball High became the 2nd High School in the state of Texas. Ball High School's cornerstone foundation was laid on February 15, 1884 at the corner of 21st and Avenue H. In 1886, the school was named after the primary benefactor, George Ball. In 1955, Ball High School moved to it's present location. 

Staff and Students 

Ball High School employs approximately 130 teachers and approximately 100 other staff members.  The school currently has about 2,000 students with a student to teacher ratio of 15 students to 1 teacher.
